Welcome to 糖心Vlog

糖心Vlog is the oldest diocese in England, stretching from Maidstone to Thanet, the Isle of Sheppey to the Romney Marsh. We have 350 miles of coastline with historic ports and seaside resorts, alongside rural communities, market towns and commuter-belt urban developments. Affluent areas often sit alongside pockets of major deprivation, offering an exciting and challenging mission context. 

At the heart of all we do is a vision of transformation for ourselves and our communities: no one can encounter God and remain unchanged. In the Diocese of Canterbury, we want to increasingly become a Christian community transformed through encounter with Christ, growing and overflowing to transform and bless the families, homes and communities we serve: Changed Lives, Changing Lives.

Goudhurst project unveiled by The Duke of Gloucester

Each day we pray for members of our diocese. Below you can find details of who we are praying for today, which we invite you to use in your own prayers.

Join us in prayer for Praying Together: for Discernment

One step falls in front of another.
The senses come alive.
No longer a slave to the latest message,
our eyes alight on beauty in the most unlikely of settings.
There is a fresh curiosity for the wildflowers we see,
and a sudden wonder in the birdsong we hear.
Walking with a companion, there is a rich sharing of personal histories,
a strengthening of bonds, and a deepening of fellowship along the way.

Lord in my own pilgrimage, help me to encounter this world more fully.
Teach me to embrace the pace of the road,
to open my mind, and to listen for your still, small voice.
Help me to know better who I am, where I am going, and how I can best serve.

Through Jesus Christ,
Amen.
